About Me
Motherganj is a slow fashion and cultural design practice rooted in the belief that what we wear and how we create it tells the story of who we are, where we come from, and the world we’re shaping. We started with a question: How can we honor what already exists while building something new?
At our core, we upcycle forgotten textiles, revive handcrafted traditions, and create lasting pieces that carry memory, meaning, and care. But we are more than
what we make. Motherganj is a living archive, a studio, and a conversation — dedicated to blending sustainability with storytelling, and community with craft.
Whether we’re reworking heirloom fabrics or prototyping with reclaimed materials, our vision remains the same: to reimagine heritage, reduce waste, and build
beauty with intention. We’re here to take it slow, go deep, and create for the long arc not the next season.

Our Approach
At Motherganj, we treat every material as a story waiting to be retold. We begin by collecting discarded sarees, factory offcuts, and overlooked textiles from our communities not as waste, but as raw memory. Our in-house designers interpret these fragments with care, imagining new forms that respect their past.
Every piece is then brought to life by local artisans whose hands carry generations of skill. This circular, collaborative process is how we honor heritage while
designing for the future slowly, intentionally, and with deep respect for people and the planet.
